We believe in offering our patients choices when it comes to their health care. This belief also holds true with our financial policy, and we like to be open and transparent with our costs and financial arrangements. So I apologize to those that already are aware of our options, but this week's email is to inform you of the possible arrangements we can make for you.

Your health comes first, and that is why we offer a variety of financial plans allowing us to focus on your health and allow you the care you need. Our pricing structure allows care for all budgets. Please don't assume that having no insurance, having a high deductible, or not seeing Dr. Mason on your list of in-network providers means that you will not be able to make us your choice for chiropractic adjustments, massage therapy or lifestyle wellness.

Dr. Mason currently participates in most insurance programs, and we will gladly verify your in-network or out-of-network coverage for you. We also accept auto accident and workers compensation cases. For patients with little or no chiropractic insurance coverage (high deductibles, pre-existing condition riders, etc), flexible payment programs can be arranged. We also offer an annual membership program designed to optimize your wellness year-round. Why a practice membership? Well, our membership offers unlimited spinal check-ups (and adjustments as needed) and is based on the understanding that everyone can benefit from regular chiropractic care, whether they have the symptoms of a medical condition or not. Every man, woman, child, and infant should be able to find and afford quality chiropractic care and use it for the rest of their lives. This helps improve and maintain health and allows people to live a better quality and quantity of life.

Why Weekly?
In our profession, there is a saying, "If they knew what we knew, they'd do what we do." And, if you were to ask any principled Chiropractor how often they get their own spine checked or check their families spines, nearly all would say, "at least once a week." Are we crazy, or have we simply learned something so important that it makes us that vigilant about staying adjusted, even when we have no pain at all?

This is what we know: Our spines protect a very delicate nerve system that is the only communication link between the brain and every part of the body. It is not unlike a massive telephone switchboard that turns on and off each organ, gland, tissue and cell in a frenzy of electrical signals. But, we make a trade-off between the protection that the vertebra provide and the flexibility we need as active human beings - we frequently irritate the fragile nerve roots, right between the bones where they exit the spine. This nerve interference causes something similar to static on a telephone line. Chiropractors call this interference a vertebral subluxation.

When left uncorrected, even minor subluxations have been proven to interfere enough with "nerve flow" to cause permanent degeneration of cells and tissues. To us, that is a lot more critical than bad backs or stiff necks. Certainly, your pain is important, but Chiropractors also know that your liver, adrenal glands or thyroid won't "hurt" when it's nerve flow is reduced. The bottom line is this: Vertebral subluxations are bad, they don't always cause pain, and pain isn't always a sign that you have one.

Without a doubt, physical injury can cause subluxations. It could be something as serious as an automobile accident or as minor as too much volleyball or a bad night's sleep. Hard bones can move out of place and interfere with the soft nerves, but other day-to-day stresses can also cause subluxations. Ever notice how you hold your shoulders when a deadline is fast approaching, or when the kids are out of control? Even exposure to household chemicals and pollutants in our beautiful oceans can result in this same damaging nerve irritation. In a society like ours, it's a near-certainty that we're exposed to physical, emotional or chemical stresses every single day.

There is no dispute that the longer a subluxation remains, the more damage it will cause, and only a good Chiropractor is trained to locate and correct them. That's our job and that's all we do. We do it because of what we understand about how crucial a properly functioning nerve system is to our health and to our life. That's why we check each other - and our loved ones - every single week. It is that important. It is about your life.

No Insurance? Pay-per-visit or purchase Packs of 4 or 12 adjustments

For those patients who have little or no chiropractic insurance coverage, flexible payment programs can and will be arranged. We have made our fees reasonable and affordable so you will get the care you need. Many patients pay directly for care, as they discover chiropractic to be extremely cost-effective and affordable. Just know that if you are willingly to commit to the care recommended and needed, we will arrange a payment schedule to make it work. We offer several payment options for you to choose from:

1. Pay $40 for your adjustment on the same day of service.
*Discount of up to 20% from the regular price of $50

2. Pay $120 for a "4 Pack" of adjustments that expires 30 days from date of purchase.

3. Pay $380 for a "12 Pack" of adjustments that expires 1 year from date of purchase.

Insurance

Most insurance plans are accepted at our office. We accept auto accident, workers compensation, personal injury and most health insurance plans, including Medicare. Since there are so many plans, and coverage varies widely among each plan, please call us to find out if your plan covers care in our office. Our staff will verify and explain your benefits before treatment, at no charge.

We assist and guide you to take the time to care for the important people in your world: you and your family. In an effort to make living the wellness lifestyle as easy and affordable as possible, we can create a customized family plan that is specific to you and your family.

Health on a Budget

At Mason Chiropractic Health & Wellness we're convinced that a small amount of your time and money to care for your most important asset--your health--will be far less time consuming and expensive than trying to recover it. If you feel you do not have enough time or money to take care of yourself, please contact us--we can help! The last thing we want is for you to come to our wellness center in crisis. So please, don't wait until you have a health care crisis; we would like to encourage you to take your health very seriously and come in for check-ups to prevent the crisis. As the old saying goes, if you don't have your health, you don't have anything. Unfortunately, too many people don't discover how true that statement is until it is too late.
