What is K-Laser Therapy?
K-Laser therapy targets damaged tissue with specific wavelengths of light. The light energy passes through the skin, deep down to the cellular level, initiating the body's natural regenerative process. Much like photosynthesis in plants, light energy passes through the skin, into the cell membrane, initiating a process called photobiostimulation. This process enhances the body's natural regenerative functions, as well as stimulating the release of endorphins and collagen. It may eventually even normalize damaged or injured tissue because increases the cell's production of ATP (energy) which accelerates the cell's healing.
Laser therapy accelerates wound and/or soft tissue injury healing, reduces pain, stiffness, swelling and spasms. K-laser therapy can stimulate all cell types, including surface level (skin) soft tissue all the way to the cell level of muscles, ligaments, cartilage, and nerves. K-laser therapy is painless, FDA approved, and is a scientifically backed treatment for a variety of conditions.

Is K-Laser treatment painful?
K-Laser treatment is absolutely painless. Patients describe a warming sensation to the treated. K-Laser Treatment sessions are very fast and there are no known side effects. Areas of pain or inflammation may be sensitive briefly before pain reduction.
What can I expect at my K-Laser session?
K-Laser treatments are administered by a trained therapist, using a hand-held device the size of a flashlight. The laser is placed directly over the injured area for anywhere from 30 seconds to 9 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated and the treatment plan.
How many K-Laser sessions do I need?
The number of sessions will depend on the exact diagnosis, age and overall health status of the patient, and other factors. In general, acute conditions can be treated more frequently and require fewer visits, typically 4-6. Chronic conditions may require more visits, and do not need K-Laser treatment as frequently. The effects of K-Laser treatments are cumulative. Patients may experience significant pain relief very quickly.

Is K-Laser Therapy safe?
The FDA approved K-Laser treatment is safe to deliver directly over metal implants, over broken skin and on acute injuries. K-Laser treatments are extremely safe when applied by a K-Laser certified, properly trained professional. K-Laser treatments should never be given directly over the eye or the thyroid gland. Patients who receive cortisone injections should wait at least 7 days before receiving K-Laser treatment. The only contraindications for using K-Laser therapy is to stay off the eyes, the thyroid and any tattooed/inked area of the body. Tattoos will heat up the skin and quickly become far too uncomfortable to withstand any treatment with the laser. We will also refrain from using the K-Laser on expecting mothers and on those that currently are known to have cancer.
Has the effectiveness of K-Laser Therapy been scientifically backed? Is it widely trusted?
Yes. Laser therapy is built upon a solid foundation of more than 30 years of research and development and is recognized as a safe and effective treatment modality with a proven track record for a wide range of conditions both acute and chronic. Over 2,000 scientific and medical research papers have been published on the beneficial effects of laser therapy accelerated injury healing and pain relief. Among these studies, there are more than one hundred rigorously controlled, scientific studies that document the effectiveness of laser for many clinical conditions. Findings include:
- acute pain reduced by more than 70%
- chronic pain reduced by more than 60%
- chronic low back pain effective in 71% of cases, pain eliminated completely in 45%
- wound healing 55% greater on day 8 (compared to placebo group)
- improved knee flexion and pressure sensitivity after every treatment in knee injury cases
** Currently, I am reading the research on the potential benefits of K-Laser for gut health.
