Congratulations to all my patients and friends that participated in the 2009 Music City Marathon. It was a HOT ONE! I think it was a record heat for the 10 year anniversary of the Music City. I can say it was the thoughest for me in six half marathons. The heat was rough about mile 11. I didn't have much left in the tank, but finished nonetheless.
After the race, I decided to take a tip from my good buddy, Christopher McClintock of Personal Best Fitness and Team in Training...yes, the pic below tells it all. An Ice Bath from the waist down...Very COLD, even hurts a little, but well worth it. It helps constrict the vessels and tissues in mucles, thereby reducing recover time and cramping. I feel great today. KinesioTape also helped my knees track properly and stay painfree!
ps...I am moving my hands really fast to keep from freezing. Whooo-weeeee
